Program Descriptions
May 19 - 21, 2008
Honolulu Community College
Sessions will be presented in track groupings to accommodate most attendee's interests. For maximum scheduling flexibility and to allow attendees to choose from the variety of options, the material presented will be repeated over the course of the 3 days.
Please note that some of the sessions span multiple blocks. Attendees should attend both blocks (e.g. Mac 101 Parts 1 and 2) on the same day.
A limited number (about 20) computers are provided for use in each of the "hands-on" tracks. We strongly recommend one attendee per computer, and we expect strong demand for these workshops. So, please arrive early for first-come, first-served seating in the hands-on sessions. The registration process does not serve as a reservation for a seat in any of the sessions.
Attendees wishing to bring their own systems should have the relevant software loaded and the latest updates installed. Some classes will follow the use of sample material pre-loaded on the lab machines, so please come early to ask the instructor for a copy of the material if you're bringing your own computer. Also note that access to AC power may be limited in these rooms. Due to the short time-frame provided for each session, instructors will not have time to trouble-shoot computers brought in by attendees.
For attendees not used to using a trackpad, you are welcome to bring a USB mouse for use during the labs.
Below is a full description of each track and their corresponding workshops. Next to each track title is a list of attendee “types” to help attendees identify tracks most appropriate for their occupations.
